Can I microwave them?
Are they dishwasher safe?
What are they made?
Our meal containers are #5 plastics or PP (polypropylene). You can recycle #5 plastics through most curbside programs but please check your specific city guidelines.
Can I return them for credit or a discount?
While we would love to offer a return program due to health safety regulations we're not able to accept them back into our facility.
Why not compostable or biodegradable?
There are a few different reasons we don't use compostable meal containers here. One is we've tried in the past and they breakdown quite quickly with any moisture containing meals making is so your meals don't make it to you without damage or getting ruined.
Another big reason is that while several manufacturers say their packaging is “compostable” or “biodegradable,” most at-home composts don't produce the temperature needed to fully break down these types of packaging, and studies show that biodegradable items don't break down in a landfill either.
These products must be disposed of in a commercial composting facility which are very hard to find and only in a handful of cities. We believe the wider recycling ability of #5 plastics by the typical consumer is the way to go.
